Programs
Our nature-based programs are designed for children aged 3 to 6, offering rich, sensory experiences that inspire curiosity and a deep connection to the natural world. Rooted in play-based learning and intentional teaching, each program invites children to explore through hands-on activities that are engaging, practical, and meaningful. With a variety of themed experiences, our programs encourage children to develop a sense of belonging, contribute to their environment, and build respectful relationships with people and place. Sustainability, and a love of nature are at the heart of everything we do. All programs are thoughtfully aligned with the NSW Early Years Learning Framework to support children’s learning and development.
Fabulous Frogs
Learn all about Australia’s fabulous frogs, and why they are such important indicators of our ecosystem’s health. Explore the different sounds that frogs make, take part in a healthy waterways experiment and get hands-on building a home for frogs in your outdoor space.
Our Native Bee Friends
Learn all about Australia’s unique native bees- where they live, their habits, what they eat and their very important role in the ecosystem. Get hands-on with an experiment and building a home for native bees, and get your hands dirty planting some of the bees’ favourite flowers to attract them to your outdoor space.
Where The Lyrebird Lives
Tip-toe through the rainforest… through the wisha-washa trees, over the river that babbles like a bird and uncover the magic of the bush when you take a breath, slow down and listen with your ears. Learn about the secretive Lyrebird, explore the different sounds that birds make, use your senses to discover treasures from the bush and quiet your mind with some nature- themed mindfulness.
Fire and Nature (Coming Soon)
Discover how fire is a natural part of the Australian bush, how it heals the land and breathes new life into the ecosystem. Listen as the smoke whispers to the bush, reminding it that it is time for renewal and learn how life recovers after the fire. Watch as plants transform before your eyes and rise from the ashes, explore treasures from the bush and smell the smoke as it washes over you.
In The Rockpool
Come and explore the glittering rockpool and discover all the fascinating creatures that call it home. We’ll learn how to explore rockpools safely, use our senses to investigate treasures from the sand and sea, investigate how the tides work and get messy creating some beach art.

At Wattle Tree Environmental Connections, we believe that a lifelong respect for nature begins in early childhood. Driven by a deep love for the environment and a passion for environmental education, we are dedicated to inspiring wonder, curiosity, and care for the natural world in young children. Our hands-on, sensory-rich programs are thoughtfully designed for children aged 3–6 years in daycare centers and preschools. Through engaging practical experiences, we provide meaningful opportunities for children to explore, observe, and connect with nature in a safe and supportive environment. We are committed to the highest standards of care and safety. Our sessions are backed by a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring peace of mind for educators and families alike. At Wattle Tree Environmental Connections, we don’t just teach about nature—we cultivate a deep, joyful relationship with it. Join us in growing the next generation of environmentally conscious explorers. Sarah brings over a decade of experience as a dedicated zookeeper, where she developed deep knowledge of animals, their habitats, and the natural world. A passionate educator, Sarah has spent years teaching both children and adults—an essential part of her role in the zoo and beyond. In recent years, she has focused on environmental education, inspiring young minds through hands-on, sensory experiences in nature. Her programs are designed to spark curiosity, build respect for the environment, and nurture a lifelong love of the living world.
